Convert Traffic - Overview
Converting web visitors into active prospects or customers is the chief purpose of most websites. Driving traffic is just the start. To be successful, your website visitor must be motivated to explore and either purchase something or becomes a valid prospect by contacting you by phone, email, or physically visiting your location.
Steps to Improve: The major steps in improving website conversion are:

- Landing page construction (for pay per click traffic)
- Conversion testing and analysis
First, do a design review to look at your current website’s design and determine if it’s an asset or impediment to a good conversion rate.
Next, analyze any pages that are linked to directly with advertising from other sites (e.g. Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing/Overture). Are they specific to the ads linking to the page. Is there a clear “call to action”.
Finally, the only way to judge the effectiveness of a specific page is by tracking, testing and analyzing the results. Track the traffic to the page and see where the user goes from there. Substitute elements or an entirely new page and measure the impact. Finally, the analysis is completed and conclusions drawn.
